I thought about a good idea for the playoffs (both leagues) and the free agent draft. As you may have read from the rules, the free agents not kept from the year before will be dumped into a draft pool the following spring. Since the league is keeper-flexible, i.e. you can keep all 46 players of your franchise or none at all, I am making the rule that the draft (2010 and beyond) is one-by-one, non-snake order similar to that of most professional athletic leagues' drafts. If you keep 0 players and everyone else keeps 40 players, you will not get 40 straight picks before them. Therefore, declare your keepers wisely.
Also, the playoffs in both leagues will be 6 teams as always. However, there will also be a consolation bracket that will help determine the draft order. Winner of the consolation bracket will get the top draft pick. The consolation bracket will only be in the Mexpo, not the Tyro. When Yahoo! arranges the order of winners after the 2009 season, the following draft will in the following order based on the standings...
7th place 8th 9th 10th 11th 12th 6th 5th 4th 3rd 2nd 1st
Basically, the higher you finish in the consolation bracket, the higher your draft pick will be. However, the higher you finish in the playoff bracket, the lower your pick will be.
